My brother bought this cabin with property several years ago, & you believe the difference since he's been working on it. It's octogon shaped, with a porch that wraps around the whole thing. It has an upstairs, that has windows all the way around. (I should have taken pictures up there also) Below the cabin is all built in with space to store his ATV's and extra firewood. The cabin is totally self contained. He has solar panels, generator, & now a well for his water! It's over 3,000 sq. feet, so he has plenty of room for all of us!! ha!

The La Plata Mountains

We spent some time at my brother's cabin. It was so wonderful and cool! We went 4 wheeling, and saw some wonderful country. We were literally on top of the world. The elevation was over 13,000 feet. Along side of the trail we were on, wild raspberries were growing, which we picked clean~They were delicious!

Cole & Trevor
Lastnight Phillip, Tina and the boys came over. Cole was in a wonderful mood--He was giggling, and smiling, showing his wonderful big dimples! My pictures just don't show how really adorable he is--He is a cutie! He was so funny, after I'd take a picture of him, he'd get really BIG eyes~ Trevor is so big~ Still loving trains~ We have to watch on the computer~

Oahu, Hawaii

We will be celebrating 40 years of marriage this month, so we're going to Hawaii!! We will be staying at the Turtle Bay Resort, which has a wonderful website, complete with music! I'm excited to visit the Pearl Harbor historical sights, as well as the Polynesian Cultural Center, and the beautiful Hawaiian LDS temple!
California

Kevin, Helen & Anabeth spent the weekend at the beach. Anabeth wasn't sure about the water, or the waves. But it looks like she had lots of fun playing in the Sand!

Family Reunion

We've had Myrle's family reunion this weekend! They are so organized--breakfasts, potlucks, lunches, pie eating contest, auction~ However today, we had our lunch potluck, and had goat meat, baby goat meat!! I had no idea people ate goat, but after doing some googling found out that people all over the world eat it, in fact more people eat goat, than chicken in other countries! I did try a taste, and it was very dark meat, and stringy--I'm not sure, after looking it up, that it was prepared the best way~ But I can now say I've eaten goat!!

BZB's Quilt
I've been busy all day making Bailee's quilt! We went to this wonderful fabric shop while in NC last time & got the fabric, but it's taken me awhile to get it all finished! I didn't stuff the pillows, but you can get the main idea!

Colorado
We are in beautiful Colorado again. Myrle is busy working with his tractor, just pushing dirt around! He does seem to be making some progress with the prairie dogs! We aren't seeing so many now. He pushes dirt into their holes, then waits till they pop up again, and shoots them!!! They sure do make a mess of our property. We keep hoping a prairie dog plague will come, and wipe them all out. Our neighbors have horses, and it makes it very dangerous for them~
My Dad's brother (one of the triplets) Uncle Jerry, will be here tomorrow from TX. So, I've been busy getting ready for him. Dad was pleased that I was here, to cook for them! We always enjoy Uncle Jerry, he has a really heavy TX accent, and calls everyone "Darlin"--He was always the ladies man. Was married 5 times!!
I wish I could say it's wonderfully cool here, but it's supposed to get up to 95 today, which is hot. I hate having to use the air conditioning and keep my windows closed~ At least it cools off some at night, unlike AZ.

5 Things That REALLY Irritate Me!
1. Being lied to!!! My Pat. blessing says that I know when I'm being decieved~ I always do, and sometimes it makes me mad, and sometimes it just hurts me~I'm not sure it's a blessing to always know this.
2. Disobedient Children!! If a parent asks a child to do something, they should do it, and if they don't, the parent should follow through, and make sure it's done. The parent shouldn't waste their time telling their child to do something, if they don't want it done!!!!!!! I could go on and on about this! Following through, and teaching the child to obey, will establish confidence and make for a happier more adjusted child. This is one of the many things wrong with the world--kids don't obey, think they can do whatever they want, or come up with a way to get around, what they are supposed to be doing!
3. Misuse of words!! It's "they're" or they are---not "there"-- I'd rather do this "than" that--not "then"--Did they miss class when this was taught or what?
4. Misspelled words in books I read. I always have a pencil handy when reading a book, to circle words that are spelled wrong. Writers use spell check, and it is not always accurate when editing books!
5. Hearing "That's not fair"~~~ Of course things aren't fair! And would you really want them to be?? It's called communism folks--or at least it's supposed to be fair~Of course even then, it still isn't fair~There is always someone with more, or better treated!

Busy month!
It has slowed down around here now~ But it was a busy month! Taryn and the kids went home, so it's quiet and clean around here now! ha! We enjoyed seeing them, and really got to know each of the kids better! I still have fingerprints on my bathroom mirror, which I hate to clean away--trying to keep a little of them still here~
We were pleased that Jeremy, Misha and the twins were able to come to Colorado to spend time with cousins! We just didn't have enough time with them--I may have to make a trip to UT and meet up with them again!
It was wonderful having Kevin, Helen and Anabeth come home for a quick visit! Anabeth was amazed with her crazy cousins. I tried and tried to get pictures of her and Storie in their matching dresses, but this one was as close as I got! We found out that Kade loves to dance, so we had several "dance-offs" which we loved! Kevin cooked for us, and it was all delicious!
One of Taryn's friends came over with her two kids and spent the day~ It was like old times. She used to practically live at our house, when growing up! Her kids are so cute, and it was so fun watching them be mommies, and daddies--and thinking about all the trouble their kids will cause them someday!!! ha ha ha--
Today is Miss Storie's birthday. She is 2 years old! We can't believe it. Kilee had her party last night, and she was busy as ever with her little friends from church, and cousin Trevor! She got a kitchen, which still needs to be put together by daddy. It was fun seeing her play with the kids.
My Dad seems to be doing better now, after falling, breaking a rib, and really skinning his arm! Hopefully he's taking his meds the right way now, and it won't happen again. I worry about him all the time! Taryn & Misha got the honors of re-bandaging him while in Cortez (several times!! ha)
We have no new company, or trips planned right now~ it's sad!

Bailee, Karter, Emmie & Kade

Christtina's sister in law does a wonderful job of taking pictures, so we hired her to take some of the kids while they were here. Taryn loves the desert ones, since they have no cacti in NC.
