This is one of my favorite places on earth! When I was a kid we'd go up here, and I fell in love~ Back then, in the olden days, the little houses left by the miners, were still intact and even had all kinds of old furniture in them--Needless to say the old houses are falling down, and all the old antiques are gone~ These pictures don't really make you realize that you are on top of the world~ The elevation is almost 12,000 ft. So it's HIGH~

There are tons of wild flowers growing up here~ Kilee still remembers Myrle hiking up this area, and picking me a bouquet of flowers~ She was just little~We took a small motor home up here & camped once~ The road is very narrow & scary! There were places, the kids & I got out~ It is good that we didn't meet anyone on the road, it would have been impossible to pass or back up~
Lake on top of the world~

The reason there are no trees on the mountains in the background is that, it is above timberline~ Too high to grow anything~
When the kids were small we camped right near the lake--NOT A SINGLE soul was up there--it was great~ It was a really unknown place, until all these trail bikers and hikers came along~This lake is a natural spring fed lake==No fish or anything in it~
Jessa & Kilee have been friends for several years~ Jessa is Kilee's Colorado friend--It worked out so perfectly, when they met they were instant friends~ They were both home schooled, so whenever we were in Colorado, they could hang out, and travel~Jessa's family is wonderful, and we still enjoy them whenever we're in Colorado~
They always had fun doing goofy things!
Kilee & Dusty will be having their anniversary next month, so I've been feeling a little sad~ Where did the time go? Kilee & Dusty have 2 little girls now, and Jessa is married with a little baby boy of her own now. Kilee & Jessa are still good friends~ It's funny how friendships work--Kilee & Jessa have more in common now, that they are mommies! I find that with some of my good friends, the older we get the better friends we are, just because we've experienced life a little more! I do so treasure my friendships~ I hate losing contact with people who I loved and shared so many things with. I have a few friends, who I've lost total contact, due to divorces, moves etc. Keep thinking that in today's world, it really isn't hard to find lost friends--But there are still some I would love to find again~Awww---life it does go on & on & on--Meanwhile, I'm thankful for all my dear friends who mean so much to me: Karen, Cathy, Kathy, Susan, Judy, Penny, Renea, & Elaine to name a few~
Now Jessa is a mommy, and this is her sweet baby boy, Anson~
Karter being made Life, as well as receiving 10 merit badges~so now he'll start working on his Eagle~ He's only 13 years old, so this is great! He's homeschooling this year, taking BYU home study classes, and should be finished with the year in Dec. Karter & I are doing a book club--he & I are reading a war book, discussing it~ Then I'm paying him for answers to questions I ask about the book! We'll see how this works out! He's such a smart kid, I'm proud that he's working hard!
Trevor catching his first fish~

Cole catching his first fish~
Christtina and the boys are here in Colorado with us for a visit--Recently my brother talked to a man, who ask him if he knew of any kids that would like to go fishing--He has a pond loaded with Rainbow trout, that need to be caught, cause they'll freeze this winter~ Anyway, I called and arranged a fishing afternoon~ The boys had a ball! They caught 7 or 8 fish, one was 18 inches long, I think Christtina caught it--Anyway these people were so nice~ We visited, and talked, and after fishing we took them back to their house, and they showed us how to clean them~ We cooked 2 up there, on their grill, and brought the rest home and cooked them! Delicious!! Anyway, it was great being able to catch them right away--wish all my other grand kids could have been here with us!!
Trevor had a gun, just in case the fish wasn't dead~ ha!
Mallorie & Kolby's first day of school~ Sure wish my other children would send pictures~ Taryn!!!
Trenton doesn't start school until after Labor Day which is the way it should be~
Mallorie was a little nervous about starting again, but it didn't bother Kolby one bit! They will be in the same class room again this year, which seems to work for them~Kolby can take care of his sister. Ha!
Looking forward to seeing them this weekend in Salt Lake City!
My cousins son just posted this picture on Facebook, so I took it too~I have never seen it~ This is my cousin's husband, Jim, my Dad sitting, Greg & uncle Jerry. It was taken at my cousins daughter's wedding in CA. It was fun, Kilee and I flew out to LA--My Dad and uncle Jerry picked us up from the airport~ I thought we'd never get to our hotel~They didn't know where they were going, and when uncle Jerry got on the freeway, he got into the fast lane and probably went 80mph--hard to see where to get off, when you're in that lane and going that fast~! Kilee & I were in the backseat holding hands and praying!! We did make it, and enjoyed seeing everyone at the wedding~Makes me miss him so much whenever I see pictures of him~
Ok--I couldn't stand it anymore, so I booked a trip to Maui! We'll be going over in October! For the past 2 years we've been over to Hawaii--and I just couldn't imagine not going over again this year. This will be our third island! I've loved both Kauai & Oahu & would return to either in a heart beat! Yet I want to visit the other islands, so I can pick a favorite~
This is a picture of my friend Penny Ray Livingston & her son Kyle~ Prior to going to CA I had a little get together at my house~ Penny & Elaine Campbell Brown came for dinner~ I cooked all the Amish stuff from my cookbooks! It was great getting together with them. Penny brought year books, and old high school newspapers, plus pictures from the last class reunion. Amazing how old we all are!! ha! Penny is a teacher at the old high school here in Colorado, and she's the oldest teacher there!! Isn't that crazy? Elaine lives down the road from us, so while we were out of town, she came and harvested our garden! I don't have a picture of her~ I regret not taking pictures that night!
Last night we met with our good friends, Cathy & Paul Magleby. Cathy was my good friend in high school, she was in my wedding, and I was in hers~ When I left Colorado, to attend school in AZ she also went to AZ-
We have so many good memories~ They were getting ready to celebrate their wedding anniversary, so it was especially fun talking about all those years ago, when we met them at the Salt Lake City temple, for endowments, and then onto Manti temple to be married. Awww---Where did all those years go??
