More Amish pictures

Kolby on our buggy ride~

Mallorie & Emmie on our buggy~

Another cool barn/farm

This brick structure is actually a barn too--the slits in the sides are where the farmers used to put their guns through, so they could kill the Indians!!! Can you believe that?

Amish, PA

These farms are just amazing--We were so surprised to learn that they don't water anything--Yep--no lawns, or even crops--just depend on rain! Can you imagine?? Coming from the desert, this was such a shock for us~

Love the barns--

Kade in our Amish buggy~ We were taken on a hour buggy ride--it was great seeing all the countryside--but very annoying to have cars pass us so fast==as if they were annoyed~

Our Amish buggy driver--They don't usually like their pictures taken--however I didn't ask~

An old covered bridge==We thought of Bridges of Madison County!
We also ate at a real Amish home--Sally and her daughters made us a typical meal--It was so good: Homemade chicken & noodles (she called it pot pie--?) green beans, homemade bread, beef pot roast, potatoes, homemade applesauce, some jello fruit stuff, corn salsa for dessert: coconut cream pie & apple cake with cream cheese frosting~~
Our meal started with a beautifully harmonized song, she called it a prayer--then about half way through the meal, they sang again==! It was great to really experience the Amish life. The B&B we stay at, were Amish growing up, but are now Mennonite==Eli & Barbara--she was great answering all my questions~

Galveston, TX

There were some beautiful homes in Galveston--I loved this one with all the old scrolling on it~

Pretty---but not Hawaii~ Once you've seen the beautiful water in Hawaii, it's hard to get excited about beach water in the mainland--This looked really dirty to me~

Lots of newer homes right on the beach--which would be wonderful until a hurricane~

We saw these same birds in Florida~ They all wait for the shrimp boats to come in-then feast on the fish the fishermen throw out to them~

Our trip to Houston

Myrle--walking yet another beach!

Steve & Judi--she took tons of pictures of birds!

We are in Houston, Texas and it's been wonderful! My uncle Derry was buried here 40+ years ago....His wife, my Aunt Stella died back in Dec of 2010--so their children organized a memorial here in Houston, where her ashes were buried with Uncle Derry~It was so nice getting to see everyone==I think there were 23 of us here for the memorial~ We stayed at an Embassy Suites hotel, not too far from the cemetery.
It is sad to think that both Aunt Stella & Uncle Derry are gone too--but wonderful that they are together again~ Of course hearing things like this doesn't help us much, when it comes to dealing with their passing! When my mom died, during my Kodi's wedding in the Arizona Temple, so many people made the statement, that it was "so wonderful to die in such a beautiful place" Well, there was nothing wonderful about it!!!!!! I now have such a hard time going to the temple~
It was great seeing all my cousins, and hopefully we can keep in touch! I've told them, the next time we get together, it'd better be for a wedding, and not another funeral! We're counting on Debbie's beautiful daughters to carry this request out!
Today we went to Galveston. Myrle had never been there, so it was fun having him visit a new place! I think I have a picture of him, just like this from every single beach we've ever visited! ha!
Tomorrow we're on our way to North Carolina, where Misha & the twins will be waiting with Taryn's gang! We can hardly wait to see them all!

Houston, Texas

This is my "oldest" cousin Kay--She claims the honor of being the matriarch of the cousins~ We gladly let her have this title!

These are two of Uncle Jerry's daughters~ Gail & Sandy! I hadn't seen them, since we were little girls! It was great getting to see them~

This is Debbie & Kim~ Uncle Derry's daughters~ We're missing Derry's son, Greg~He couldn't be here because he is in Singapore working for a few months!

This of course is Aunt Harriet & Uncle Jerry! We're all excited--Aunt Harriet told us today, that when she turns 100 she's taking us all on a cruise! We fully expect her to keep this promise~~ She's 92 now, so only 8 more years!!!

Random, Emmie, Mallorie & Trevor & Cole

Miss Emmie got her braces~ She looks so cute in them--

We're going to NC on the 13th--I can't wait to see this little brown eyed girl~

Miss Mallorie is all ready for the beach~ They're going to NC also, and then heading to Charleston, SC to visit other cousins! She loves hats~

Poor Jeremy had a little mishap on the basketball court~ He is supposed to run in a marathon next week end, but isn't sure that he'll be up to it now~ Plus their trip to the beach might be a problem on crutches~

The two little stinkers! Don't they just look full of mischief? They are so cute--I miss these little guys!

Mallorie & Kolby & Lucy napping

This is going to be one spoiled puppy!

Kora doesn't look very happy, but it's a cute picture of Miss Storie!

Mallorie, Kolby & Trevor

Mallorie & Kolby have a new puppy! Her name is Lucy (her father's name was Elvis) She is a tea cup toy poodle! They're in love with her~

Mr. Trevor just turned 4! I can't believe it~ Christtina can't seem to get him to wear anything other than his superman pj's~

I miss this little stinker~

This lucky little Lucy is gonna be loved so much!

Our Idaho Trip

Mallorie looks taller than Kolby, but it's the sandals~ They're about the same height now~

While we were in Idaho, I pulled Mallorie's tooth~ It had been loose for awhile, but she was scared to have it pulled out. Kolby hasn't lost any teeth yet--I told them to smile and show off their teeth--and this is the pose I got!

I love Kolby's look! He is Mr. Personality--sorta ornery, but very loveable!

Mallorie had her dance recital while we were there--She did great! I regret not getting a picture of her in her other outfit~

Mallorie & Kolby both play soccer, I was looking forward to seeing Mallorie play, because I guess, she's really aggressive, which I find hard to believe. The team they were supposed to play didn't show up, so they won, by default!

We got to see Kolby play soccer, but they lost their game. Fortunately at that age they really don't care!

Mr. Muscles showing them off--before church!

Our newest creative effort!

These are so fun to make--We bought cheap "wife-beater" undershirts--and tons of different laces--to decorate them ~ I bought some expensive lace, I want to get a little better quality of t-shirts for, also~ These were a trial run! Misha and I decided even getting plain ladies t-shirts, and adding lace to match skirts, etc. would be so easy to do. All my little grand daughters will be getting one~
We're in Idaho Falls with Misha & family. The shopping is great here compared to Colorado--Misha finds this funny, since I'm from AZ where the shopping is wonderful--They do have a ton of craft & fabric stores here==I guess there isn't much else to do in this place with the bad weather, but crafty things!
Yesterday we went to the talent show, at Kolby & Mallorie's school. They both played the piano, and did wonderfully! Saturday will be Mallorie's dance recital==
Myrle has gone to farm stores, and bought all the plants for our garden in Colorado~He's planning a big one--which slows down our travel plans considerably.
It's cold here due to the darn wind~It seems to always blow! We've seen people wearing shorts, so I guess some think this is warm weather, but my blood must be thin--I'm missing Arizona~

Happy Mother's Day

My beautiful flowers from Kevin & Helen--My favorite yellow! Just wish I was in AZ so I could enjoy them--But at least Christtina gets to enjoy them for me!

Thank you so much for all the gifts & calls! I miss everyone so much==! Love you all~ You make being a mother wonderful~

This is one of the books Taryn got me for Mother's Day= We're all Elvis lovers! Especially after reading the book about Lucy, his one true love~ Now Kodi just needs to read it, so she'll be a believer also!

Colorado Lotto

I wanted to put a cute little logo on here, but couldn't figure it out~ When we went to see my Dad's wrecked car, there was an old Colorado Lotto ticket in the car--I took it--and checked the numbers--he had 4 of the 6 numbers you need to win! I was so excited--wasn't sure how much you got for 4 numbers~ As it turned out we only got 49.00~ But wouldn't that have made a wonderful story? We could have been on the news (FOX of course) had it been the million dollar ticket!
My Dad was so lucky, he was always winning drawings/ lottery/etc. Nothing huge, but still!
Here is it Mother's Day and I'm still thinking about my Dad~ Happy Mother's Day to all my blogging friends~ I've always loved being a mom, it's all I ever wanted to be when I grew up!

Uncle Jerry & my dad Perry

My Dad, and his triple brother, Jerry~ I've had the hardest time calling and talking to my uncle Jerry~ I finally did, and talked for almost 30 minutes--It was great talking to him--He's always lived in Texas, and has a strong accent, and calls you "darlin"==Ha! I've always been so proud of my father, and his being a triplet! It's got to be really tough for Jerry having his brothers die before him---
We're planning a trip to ID for Mallorie's dance recital~ Not sure when we'll head out--Keep telling them, when it stops snowing up there~
We are going to Houston in June for a memorial for Uncle Derry's wife, Stella. Uncle Derry died about 40 years ago-- Anyway, we're looking forward to seeing everyone again in Houston. Then I decided that since we were already in Houston, we might as well go on up to NC and see Taryn. Then Taryn & I decided that since we're in NC, we might as well go up to PA and visit our Amish friends, and shop of course! ha! Meanwhile, we're hoping Misha & the twins join us in NC for our trip to PA, since she's never been~
I feel like I need to get on the road again---Myrle is in Heaven of course, working on our property, irrigating, and killing prairie dogs==and I've been bored to death! I did go out to dinner with two old friends from High School the other night--which was fun--Crazy how time goes by--It was great to catch up on everyone I haven't thought about in years, and wouldn't recognize if I saw them~
